Old Town Wings & Wheels Car Show Saturday 11

Gus is a barber in the old town. Lance was having his hair cut. And of course they were talking. Speaking of cars.

And that turned into talking about having a car show.

What would it take?

Lance runs the Old Town Airport. Gus is Gus’ hair salon. The first thing they did was recruit Mark from Ogden Mechanical, Michael from 207 S#!t Boxes/Family Ties Racing and Doc From MVP.

Wings & Wheels Car Show & Fly-In is scheduled for June 11e. DeWitt Field in Old Town.

In fact, it will be called the 2n/a Annual Wings & Wheels, because about 5 years ago there was a Wings & Wheels show organized by another group.

Yes, there will be cars. Hundreds and hundreds of cars. Registration is the morning of the event, starting at 8 a.m., and costs $5 per car.

There are 48 trophies that will be awarded from 3 p.m.

Food. Live music. Sellers. An exchange meeting.

These 5 guys have thought of everything. It had to be a long haircut.

Even ax throwing from Smoke & Steel and a kids’ area with Kings Mountain R C.

All proceeds will go to the Maine Veteran’s Project. And Doc is grateful for financial donations

It’s an invitation to get all vets out of the house for social interaction with others, and the financial donation is important. But the outlet for vets to meet and get to know other vets may be more important as an event than the $

Wings & Wheels has also thought of something else very important.

Danny Dunn, originally from Bar Harbor, has been battling lymphoma for many years. He needs a compatible donor. And there will be an organization called Be the Match that will be there. This is a national marrow donation program. Testing at the event for a stem cell donor, to help Danny and others. Information about Be the Match here.

It will be an incredible event. Thanks to the 5 guys with the vision.
