Planned Pavement Repairs on the H-1 Westbound Hwy in Kapolei and the H-2 Northbound Hwy in Waipio

HONOLULU – Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT), Highways Division, Notifies Oahu Motorists of Planned Closures on H-1 Freeway in Kapolei and H-2 Freeway in Waipio, for Reconstruction Work of the roadway. The details of the road works are as follows.

H-1 Westbound Highway near Campbell Industrial Park / Barbers Point Harbor Exit (Exit 1).

  • The work will take place from Friday evening to Saturday morning, from October 22 to October 21. 23 and 29 Oct.-Oct. 30. Two right-hand lanes will be closed on Friday evening, from 9 pm to Saturday morning, until 6 am, for concrete demolition work and preparation work for concrete pouring. Traffic will be moved to use the median which will offer 2 open lanes for motorist access. On Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m., the lanes will be reduced to a single right-hand lane to allow the concrete to harden.

H-2 motorway northbound near the Ka Uka Boulevard exit (exit 3).

  • Two right-hand lanes will be closed from Tuesday, October 26 to Thursday, October 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for grinding the concrete pavement.

Bulletin boards will be posted to inform motorists of the details of the closure. Police will be on site to assist with traffic control and security procedures. First responders have been advised of the closures and will be cleared through. Road works allow it.
