Motorists who regularly cross the US 62 intersection with KY 95/Main Street in Calvert City in Marshall County should be aware of the potential for traffic delays during peak periods.
As part of a road safety improvement project along US 62 between Calvert City and the Marshall-McCracken County line, a Kentucky Transportation Cabinet contractor reworked this intersection to include turning lanes for KY 95/Main Street.
However, the vehicle detection equipment for the signal activation system continues to experience delays in the feed line.
For now, the signal will only work on a timer.
This means commuters should be prepared for some delays, especially during peak commuter traffic periods, such as shift changes in the industrial community of Calvert City.
The KYTC District 1 Traffic Group is awaiting the arrival of the detection and activation equipment and will install it upon delivery. During this time, motorists should be aware of traffic delays at this location.
This traffic light is at Mile 7.2 of Marshall County US 62 and near the 4 mile marker on KY 95. Approximately 12,200 vehicles pass through this intersection on an average day.
