Destiny 2: Weapon Crafting Guide

The Destiny 2 The weapon crafting mechanic was introduced with the Witch Queen expansion. Through this mechanic, our reliance on RNG when it comes to weapon drops. Although you have to jump through a few hoops before you can craft weapons, once you do, you’ll be able to customize each weapon to suit your playstyle.

Before moving on to the guide, you need to consider one very important factor. Not all weapons can be built through the Destiny 2 Weapons manufacturing mechanic. With that out of the way, here’s how you can start crafting weapons in Destiny 2.

How to Craft Weapons in Destiny 2

Before you embark on the Destiny 2 Crafting Weapons, you will need to play the first missions of the Witch Queen expansion. To complete the mission, you need to travel to the Enclave on Mars. This area is home to the Relic Conduit, where you can craft weapons in Destiny 2. You will also unlock the new ability Deepsight, which will help you mine weapon models.

What are these Destiny 2 weapon models?

If you’ve played the Witch Queen expansion, you’ll notice that some weapons have a red border around their icons. These weapons are known as Deepsight Resonant weapons. The specialty of these Deepsight Resonant weapons is that you can easily extract the pattern from them. To successfully craft a weapon, you will need to perform multiple Deepsight Resonant extractions for a weapon.

To perform an extraction, pick up a red-rimmed weapon, then complete any major activity like a strike or even a containment event on the Derelict Leviathan. At the end of the mission, if you have managed to kill enough enemies, you will receive a notification that tells you that the weapon’s Deepsight resonance has ended. Go to your character customization screen, then click on the Deepsight Resonant weapon being used.

On the page that opens next, you will see a red slot. Hover over this location and press the required button to extract the pattern. Different weapons have different model requirements. Some weapons require 5 pattern extractions, while others only require 3.

Destiny 2 Amplified Buff: what it is and how to use it

Now that you’ve successfully completed a Model Extraction, head to the Enclave Relic Conduit and then interact with it. This should open a new window with two options, “Shape” and “Reshape”. Select “Form”, then select the weapon you wish to craft. Follow the on-screen instructions to select the perks you want, then craft the weapon in Destiny 2.

As you use the weapon, it continues to level up. You will unlock new perks for your weapon as you reach higher levels. To use these perks, you will need to “remodel” your weapon and select these new perks as they become available. The best idea would be to level your weapon up to level 30. Although “Reshaping” is a level 30 weapon, you will also be able to choose perks from a list of upgraded perks.

And with that, we come to the end of the Destiny 2 weapon crafting guide. Although there is a mission in the game that teaches you how to craft weapons, this guide might be useful in case you missed the steps.
