VALE – Local residents and visitors drawn to the Vale Rodeo will have the chance to see classic cars during the Show and Shine event at Wadleigh Park on July 4th. The event, sponsored by Keller Farms, will feature vintage cars, vans, motorcycles and tractors.

“It’s one of our things that we do because it’s one of those community things and it makes us feel good to do it,” said Lynn Keller who, along with her husband, Logan, is the spearheading the show. The event starts at 9 a.m. and continues until noon and is free.

“It’s something we can do for the community,” Keller said. The entry fee for competitors is $ 5, Keller said.

The public will be able to vote for the best vehicle in each category and the first two winners will receive a trophy.

Proceeds from the show are donated to the New Year’s fireworks display in Vale.

“I would like to encourage people to participate. If we could fill the fleet with cool vehicles that would be great. Dune buggies, whatever you want to take down, ”Keller said.

Keller said the fourth annual auto show typically attracts unique vehicles.

“We live in a community where just about everyone has something in a barn and this is the only time of year they take it out,” Keller said.

Keller said the number of classic cars varies each year.

“When I took over the event, we had the chance to see, maybe, 20 cars, but a year I had 80 registered. I hope to see at least 50 participate this year, ”said Keller.

Keller said the show “gives people something to talk about.”

“The good thing is you talk about vehicles and it’s good to see what your neighbors have and for them to share it,” Keller said. For more information on the event, those interested can call Keller at 541-709-1156.
