RISON – The Pioneer Village in Rison will host the Pioneer Village Car Show and the Bluegrass Beans & Greens dinner this Saturday, September 25 at the Pioneer Village in Rison.
Auto show registrations start at 1 p.m. and the show begins at 2 p.m.
The Bluegrass Beans & Greens dinner will start at 5 p.m. The meal is $ 10 and includes ham, pinto / Great Northern beans, greens, homemade dessert, and tea. Take-out meals will be available.
The Haley Creek Boys, a bluegrass group from Hamburg, will perform at the outdoor pavilion from 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Jerry Haley, one of the group’s founders, said 10 of his band members will bring a variety of instruments to perform.
Haley said the group’s setlist will include favorites from bluegrass and gospel. Participants can get a taste of the music by following The Haley Creek Boys on Facebook.
Auto show registration is $ 10 for viewing only or $ 20 to be included in the judgment. Cars, trucks, motorcycles and tractors are invited to be part of the auto show.
There will be four divisions for cars and trucks: before 1940; 1940-1970; 1971-1999; and 2000-present.
There will be two divisions for motorcycles: before 1980 and 1981 to today.
Tractors of any year will be welcome.
