1. Are you done with First Fridays? How about second Saturdays at Arvada
The second round of Saturday Summer Concerts and Street Festival returns to Olde Town Arvada for four dates this summer, starting this weekend. Get ready for two live music stages, plenty of food and libations, and a kids’ zone to keep the whole family entertained. The festival is free.
2. Head to the Rifle for the Rendezvous Festival Car Show
Car enthusiasts will want to head to Rifle this weekend for the Rifle Rendezvous Festival Car Show. There will be door prizes, raffles, car judging, trophies and awards! For those wishing to show off their vehicles, car check-in begins at 8:00 a.m.
3. Experience 500 years of music at the Boulder Bach Festival
Insightful and passionate musicians from around the world will collaborate in Boulder this weekend for Colorado’s most unique series showcasing 500 years of music. The program explores works by later composers and features a rare 19th-century Érard concert grand piano in mint condition. The event will take place Saturday at 4 p.m. at First Congregational Church.
4. See vintage locomotives and wagons at the Colorado Railroad Museum
If you love railroads, Colorado Crossings at the Colorado Railroad Museum is happening this Saturday and Sunday. Featuring Colorado’s most unique lineup of vintage locomotives and wagons in service, this is Denver’s biggest railroad event! 6. Celebrate Asian and Pacific Islander culture at the Denver Zoo
Denver Zoo is partnering with Colorado’s Filipino-American community to host the first-ever Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI+) festival at the zoo, where they will celebrate the diversity of Colorado’s Asian community through multicultural dance , music, art, workshop and community engagement; and the zoo’s unique connection to Asian cultures and countries through our animal and conservation programs. Guests are encouraged to dress in the traditional culture with which they identify. The event takes place this weekend from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
7. Learn all about hair culture at the Colorado Photographic Arts Center
Hair is a fundamental part of the human body which is full of expectations of beauty, identity, age, gender and race. Hair culture brings together a diverse group of five female artists whose photographic work explores the multiple meanings of hair to better understand a subject that is both universal and distinctive.
