5th edition of Props & Hops to reward local aircraft mechanics | New

The 2021 Accessories and Hops Selection Committee will recognize the area’s aircraft technicians at this year’s fifth annual event, scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on October 7 at the Mandan-Lawler Field Regional Airport.

Profits will be distributed among technicians working in the general aviation industry who live within 65 miles of the Bismarck-Mandan area.

“Aircraft mechanics go through a rigorous training program and work in the harsh weather conditions of North Dakota to make sure all planes are safe; private and commercial flights. Their work often goes unnoticed because it is hard to see how hard they work. We just know that our planes arrive safely at their destinations. As a committee, we really wanted to highlight the contribution of these people. Aircraft mechanics are the unsung heroes of the aviation industry, ”said Danny Van Buskirk, member of the Props & Hops committee.

The event is open to the public and all pre-registered technicians will receive free entry to the event. Attendees will enjoy locally brewed craft beer, live music from Ben Suchy, and various silent auction items to bid on.
